Holiday Makers, Rug Up! Bathurst set to freeze this long weekend

September 27, 2018

The heating at Encore Apartments Bathurst will be set to high this long-weekend with the Bureau of Meteorology (BOM) predicting a wintery blast for our town.

The temperature is forecast to drop below zero on Sunday morning, climbing to a top of just 16 degrees. Monday will start at just zero before reaching a respectable 18 degrees.

Luckily, Bathurst is choc-full of things to do in the colder weather with heaps of indoor activities on offer.

For those who fancy a drive, The Rockley Mill and Stables Museum, is located just 30 minutes from the Bathurst town centre. Built in 1864, the Mill and Stables Museum houses three floors of exhibits including historic mill machinery, displays of historic clothing and old newspaper. Open every Sunday from 11.30am.

Closer to home, the Crago Mill Emporium and Heritage Centre is an iconic heritage building in the heart of the Milltown Railway Heritage Precinct. Enjoy home baked treats while the kids check out the collection of antique toys and lolly shop.

Of course, the weather might be just the excuse you need to catch a movie at the local Metro 5 Cinema or bunker down in your Encore apartment with some take-away, a good book and a hot chocolate. It doesn’t get much better than that!
